Flex Health Screenings

As well as the company funded health screenings, there are a range of voluntary health screenings to choose from, for an additional cost, for you and/or your partner.

Colleagues aged 39 and below can choose to flex up to the ReAssure III health screening. You can choose to have this screening either onsite at an American Express office which provides testing or within the HCA network of clinics throughout the country.

There is no health screening Flex option for colleagues aged 40 and above.

Partners can choose between a ReAssure I or ReAssure III Health Screening. More information on what is included in each screening can be found here.

Genetic Screening

Any colleague can choose to add a genetic screening to their health screening each year. The genetics test will determine whether you are at an increased risk of developing 45 medical conditions, including many of the common cancers and cardiovascular disorders. This unique test will also be vital in allowing you to better understand your future health and lifestyle choices, as well as identifying suitable screening tests and potential treatments. The test requires a blood sample which will be taken during your health screen.

Mammograms

Mammograms can be added to a partner health screen. Your Partner should be aged 40 or over in order have a mammogram. The Doctor will refer your partner to their mammogram following their health screen.

A mammogram is an X-ray scan that is used to detect early signs of breast cancer when anomalies are too small to see or feel. Your partners breasts will be X-rayed one at a time and each breast is X-rayed twice, from different angles, in order to identify issues such as cancerous cells. Breast cancer is the most common cause of cancer in the UK, and the chances of extensive treatment and risk of further complications are significantly reduced as a result of regular screening. This test is unsuitable for women who are breastfeeding and should not be taken more than once in a 12 month period.
